Virginia R. Lalumondier, 1928-2005, Knob Noster
Virginia R. "Kit" Lalumondier, 77, of Knob Noster, died Monday,
May 30, 2005, at her home.
She was born on April 13, 1928, in Rivermines, a daughter of
Jefferson N. and Clara M. McNeill Highley. On Feb. 19, 1949, in
Pocahontas, Ark., she married Roland "Jim" Lalumondier Sr., who
survives of the home.
Mrs. Lalumondier was a manager for the One Hour Optical in
Denver for nine years. In 1992, she moved to Knob Noster, where
she was a member of the First Christian Church.
Also surviving are a son, Roland "Jim" Lalumondier Jr., and his
wife, Jennifer, of Greenwood; two daughters: Lynnette Rehkop,
and her husband, John, of O'Fallon, Ill., and Kerrie Jordan, and
her husband, Jay, of Mission, Kan.; six grandchildren, Laurin
McWhorter, Kara Rehkop, Jenna Jordan, Christopher Lalumondier,
Jake Lalumondier and Justin Lalumondier; and a
great-granddaughter.
She was predeceased by seven brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Christian
Church in Knob Noster, with the Rev. David Jordan officiating.
Pallbearers will be Lester Lane, Dan Sevier, Larry Moore, Walter
Mills, Paul Tracy and Kenneth Koyles.
Burial will be in Knob Noster Cemetery. The family will receive
friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions
to the First Christian Church Building Fund or the Johnson
County Hospice, in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral
Home in Warrensburg.
