Over the years I have collected many obituaries from many different resources.  I either received them from family members, emails, letters or websites.

Opal Irene HARDIN
 

Mrs. Hardin was a farmer's wife and had worked as a professional model in Indiana and Florida. She had also been employed as a licensed practical nurse in Huntington and in Winter Haven, Fla., taught sewing classes at Purdue University, and served as the executive secretary of the Huntington County Chapter of the American Red Cross.

She was a member of the Lake Alfred Chamber of Commerce; the Jefferson Center United Methodist Church in Huntington County; the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Alfred, Fla., and its Ladies Auxiliary; the Women's Club of Lake Alfred and Winter Haven, Fla.; and the Huntington County Home Economics Club. She was also a recipient of the Indiana Woman of the Year award. She spent 44 years in her winter home in Lake Alfred, Fla.

She was born Sept. 7, 1914, in Sommerset to Carl and Nina Walker Highley. She attended Jefferson Center Township High School in Huntington County. She married W. Dean Hardin in Marion on July 30, 1931. Her husband died April 7, 2000.

Survivors include a daughter, Bette A. Mann of Roanoke; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Highley and Ralph Highley.
