Deceased Name: Jack M. Highley
HIGHLEY
Jack M., 80, born Dec. 16, 1907 in Okla. City of Mont F. and
Lois E. Highley. He attended public and parochial schools,
graduating from Central High School in 1925. Afterwards he
attended the University of Oklahoma and the University of
Washington, Seattle. He received his LLB Degree from the
Oklahoma School of Law in 1933. Highley was in general practice
until 1943 when he was inducted into the army from which he was
honorably separated in 1946 with the rank of Captain and the
Legion o f Merit Citation. He then resumed his law practice
until his retirement in 1981. He was a former member of the
American State and County Bar Association having served as Past
President of the Oklahoma County Bar Association. He was also a
Past Post Commander of Post No. 35 of the American Legion and
life member; as well, as a former member of the American
Judicature Society, Oklahoma Trial Lawyers, Knights of Columbus,
Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, The Greens Golf and Racquet
Club, Sigma Chi Alumnae Association, Boy Scouts of America and
Oklahoma City Junior Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; son, John M. Highley, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Gretl Highley; 2 grandchildren, John C. Highley of Okla. City and Heidi Jordan of Plano , TX; a sister, Margaret (Peggy) Wienecke of Bartlesville, OK; a great grandson, Derrick Paul Jordan of Plano, TX and 2 step-children, Trisha Wilson of Pawhuska, OK and Ralph Morrison of Dallas, TX. He was a member of St. Eugene's Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. A Rosary Service will be held Mon. Sep. 5, at 7pm at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held 2pm Wed., Sep. 7, at St. Eugene's Catholic Church.
