JESSE MIDDLETON

FARMINGTON - Jesse Munroe MIDDLETON of Farmington passed away on January 25, 2006 at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center at the age of 78 years. He was born on April 30, 1927, in Columbus, GA, the son of the late Freed and Myrtle Louise (Reed) MIDDLETON. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Freed MIDDLETON Jr., sister, Verna Teal, and a step-son, James Townsend.

Mr. Middleton was a member of the Delassus Baptist Church and was active in an outreach ministry at the Farmington Correctional Center and SEMO Mental Health. He enjoyed working in his rose garden and spending time with Daniel, Cassandra and Christine Sage also Daniel MIDDLETON. Mr. Middleton worked for many years as a meat cutter for Safeway, Kroger and Country Mart. He proudly served his country as a U. S. Marine in World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Nancy E. (Fraser) MIDDLETON, four sons, Garry MIDDLETON (Cindy) of Hatchechubbee, AL, Michael MIDDLETON (Susan) of Flowery Branch, GA, Bobby MIDDLETON of Alabama, and David MIDDLETON of California, daughter, Patsy (Mrs. Gaylon) Jowers of Seal, AL, brother-in-law, Douglas Teal of Columbus, GA, special cousin, Bronnie Reed, four step-daughters, Sue Kast of Paso Robles, CA, Juanita Thompson of Atascadero, CA, Phyllis Chappell of Adairsville, GA and Lisa (Mrs. Norman) Sage of Flowery Branch, GA. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive.

Friends may call at the Gozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2006. Visitation will resume at 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Saturday. A funeral service will follow at the Delassus Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with Brother James Marlar officiating assisted by Daniel Judge. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery.
