Deceased Name: Homer H. McClanahan
McCLANAHAN
Homer H. McClanahan, 84, of Oklahoma City, passed away September
25, 2002. He was born April 13, 1918 in Farmington, Missouri to
Val and Tessa (Highley) McClanahan.
After graduation, Homer started working as a truck driver. He
married June Inscho in Purcell on June 2, 1939 and they moved to
Oklahoma City to live. He was drafted and served in the U.S.
Navy during WWII. Upon his honorable discharge he returned home
to June and soon after their son Val was born. Homer continued
truck driving working for Be-Mac, Lee Way Motors, Shayler Truck
line and finally Transcon until he retired.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Siloam Masonic Lodge
and Guthrie Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years June McClanahan; son Dr.
Val McClanahan and his wife Cheryl; grandchildren Valerie and
her husband Matt Gilman and Natalie McClanahan as well as his
sister Mildred Keys.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, September 28,
2002 at the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel. Hahn-Cook Street &
