Deceased Name: Eunice Mae (McCarty) Detamore
July 3, 1927 - Aug. 7, 2003
Eunice Mae (McCarty) Detamore, 76, died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday
at home.
She was born in Nicholas County, Ky., to the late William E.
McCarty and Carolyn (Blevins) McCarty. She married William A.
Detamore on Feb. 23, 1946. He survives.
Mrs. Detamore was a homemaker and worked in the cafeteria at
Lincoln Elementary School and also at Wagner's in Wabash. She
was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post 160,
Roanoke. Her hobbies included gardening, quilting and home
canning.
Additional survivors include daughters, Billie (Roger) Ertel,
Converse, Rebecca (Steven) McClure, Roanoke, Jackie (Ralph)
Anderson, Mannsville, Okla. sisters, Pansy Burden, Carlisle,
Ohio, Minnie Fryman, Paris, Ky., Jessie Ramey, Sheboygan, Wis.,
Louise McCarty, Carlisle, Ky., and Betty Clevenger, Cocoa, Fla.
grandchildren, Angela (Scott) Haley, Diedra (Jason) Brackins,
William, Brock and Chris (Jill) Ertel, and Joshua Anderson
stepgrandchildren, Nancy (Blain) Bucy, Roger Ertel, and Cory
(Virginia) McClure great-grandchildren, Mason and Kylee Ertel,
Jake Brackins, Shayla Breeden and Will Haley and stepgreat-grandchildren,
Theresa, Rachel and Randy Gamble, Brandon Combs, Kari and Kasey
Collins, Dalton McClure and Brittany and Tristan.
She also was preceded in death by brothers, Roger, Chester,
Carl, William, Elmer and Tom McCarty.
Services are at 2 p.m. Monday in Sunnycrest Baptist Church, 2172
W. Chapel Pike, with Bill Sparks officiating. Burial is in Grant
Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Raven-Choate Funeral Home,
1202 Kem Road, and from 1 p.m. until services Monday at the
church.
Memorials may be made to Gilead Ministries, 428 S. Washington
St., Marion, Ind. 46952.
