Bernice M. VANAMBURG
 

Bernice M. VanAmburg, 81, of 400 Lindale Dr., died Sunday, April 13, 1997, in Norwalk Care Center, Norwalk, following a long illness. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. William Harnish. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 5 to 8 tonight at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, and after noon Wednesday at the chapel.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas of Atkins and Virgil of Norwalk; a daughter, Marlene Dehart of Marion; three brothers, Roy Highley and William Highley, both of Cedar Rapids, and Ernie Highley of Neosho, Mo.; four sisters, Viola VanAmburg of Red Water, Texas, Nadine Davis of Stockton, Mo., Nelda Barnes of Anamosa and Donna Anthony of Pala Verdes, Calif.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Phillip VanAmburg.

Bernice was born May 30, 1915, in Creston, Iowa, to Ernest and Daisy Marie Clark Highley. She married Bruce VanAmburg on May 30, 1933, in Anamosa. He died in 1968.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Bernice was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
