Lee Roy VINCENT
 

GREENVILLE -- Lee Roy Vincent, 77, died Sunday afternoon at 1:40 p.m. at his home on Mill Street in Greenville, following several weeks illness. He was born in Muhlenberg County on Oct. 30, 1927, the son of Dillis Vincent and Lorene Stanley Vincent. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a retired employee of the Paradise TVA Steam Plant. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville and he and his wife, Mavis, helped organize the Young at Heart organization. He helped in the literacy group and was a volunteer at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Vincent; and a brother, Athalee Vincent.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Julie Fleming of Greenville; three grandchildren, Sharon Tedder of Madisonville, Janet Piper of Bowling Green and Marcus Fleming of Greenville; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Vincent of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at First Baptist Church in Greenville, by Dr. Charles Midkiff and the Rev. Gary McAbee. Burial will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville and after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The family requests that contributions be made to Green River Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
