Golden HIGHLEY DAVIS
 

COAL MOUNTAIN — Golden Davis, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 26, 2008.

Born Sept. 20, 1919, in Sudith, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Neri and Lizzie Griffy Highley.

Golden was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by Roy Ray Davis; a brother, John Highley; three sisters, Beatrice Wright, Reva "Tottie" Lawery and Grace Short.

Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Phyllis Jean Hatfield of Brenton; a son, Larry Dean Davis of Coal Mountain; one granddaughter, Terri Meadows of Huntington; two grandsons, Tony Hatfield and his wife, Terena, of Coal Mountain and Brad-ley Hatfield of Brenton; and four great-grandchildren, Lyndsie, Haleigh and Gregory Meadows of Matheny and Madison Hatfield of Coal Mountain.

A celebration of Golden's life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randall Topping officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at the funeral home.
